HTI’s Chairman: Cabinet Reshuffle Will Not BringSignificant Changes

kabinet kerja jokowiThe resuffle of Jokowi’s cabinet, according to the Chairman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) Central Board, Rokhmat S Labib, is not enough as the root of the problems is neoliberalism.

“Cabinet reshuffle gives only little changes but not meaningful impacts!” he told mediaumat.com, on Wednesday (12/8) via mobile phones.

According to him, significant changes are changes that can save the country, including to save the country from economic downturn, it will not affect the people since the problem cannot only be solved by simply replacing people. “If the minister is incompetent and should be replaced, that is okay, but remember the real problems is neoliberal economic system implemented today which is the root cause of recurring problems,” he said.

Rokhmat reminds that the neoliberal economic system is very dangerous because it marginalizes the role of the state in vital sectors as well as the lives of common people.

“What is the use of replacing the ministers if management of the mines, abundant natural resources is handed over to the private sectors? Its law even legalize all natural resources to be controlled by the kuffar imperialists! The state only get a very small portion, ” Rokhmat said.

It is also meaningless if neoliberalism is still applied in financial sector which use paper-based money, and money is used as a commodity to be traded on stock market, and keep applying usury. In fact, according to Rokhmat,  it all contradicts with the Islamic economic system and clearly become the main problems during the financial crisis repeatedly occur in countries, including America and Indonesia.

“So, if you merely replace the ministers or even the president himself and not change the system it is meaningless and there will be recurring economic crises,” he predicts.

Thus, Rokhmat said further, this country requires a new system which is the Islamic economic system. And indeed, the Islamic economic system cannot stand alone but is bound by the Islamic political system, all of which can only be enforced in a Khilafah state. [] JP/RZ
