HTI Press. Indonesian muslims should be grateful since the physical form of colonialism has gone from Indonesia. Currently, there are no moretroops of either Dutch, Japanese, British on Indonesian soil. But it does not mean the colonialism has ended. Nowadays, the Muslims must fight against the new colonialism (neo imperialism).
This is stated by Ustadz Farid Wadjdi in a Political Discussion organized by HTI Chapter Bandung Regency on Saturday (15/08). In the event, the member of HTI Central Board revealed the failure of the West in physical wars does not make them silent.
According to him, the imperialists still want to colonize Indonesia. As a result, they create new colonialism by applying capitalist ideology, through which the real western colonialism is still going on economically, politically, socially, and culturally.
“Therefore, after the imperialists were expelled, then the next thing to do for Muslims is to replace the colonialists’ system, namely capitalism in all of its forms from Indonesia,” he said.
He further reminds the Muslims to play major roles in the struggle to repel imperialistic system from Indonesia. “The struggle to repel theforeign colonialists could not be separated from the role of the scholars and students, because this country is the land of Islam, on the basis of Islam, jihad fi sabilillah ” Ustadz Farid said in al-Saied Ranchi Mosque, Bandung regency.
On the occasion, the chief editor al Waie Magazine describes the historical evidence of the big roles of the Muslims such as the struggle of Prince Diponegoro, Tuanku Imam Bonjol, Sultan Hasanuddin, Teuku Umar etc, including the ‘Jihad Resolution’ called on by the muslimscholars during October-November 1945 to expell the Dutch colonialists who wanted to return to Indonesia.
“So, it is now pseudo independence, while the real independence can only be achieved if we reject colonial ideology, replace it with the Islamic system, and apply the Islamic sharia thoroughly under the Khilafah on the way of prophethood, said Ustadz Farid Wadjdi at the event attended by scholars and community leaders.
