Indonesia: Stand before Presidential Palace, Stop FREEPORT! Return the Public Property to the People

Hizb ut Tahrir/ Indonesia (HTI) organized a stand before the Presidential Palace (Merdeka) in Jakarta; which 400 members and supporters came out to reject the contract extension plan, Freeport. The Hizb has confirmed the gold mine of PT Freeport Indonesia in Papua is the largest in the world is a symbol of greed, arrogance, and the occupation of the United States in Indonesia. The demonstrators chanted, “Allahu Akbar” and that “Freeport must be expelled from Indonesia!” Dr Muhammad Ismail Yusanto, Official Spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in Indonesia, handed a petition over to the Presidential Palace to reject the contract extension plan because the contract is contrary to Sharia Laws.[]
