Three Ways to Prevent A Non-Muslim From Ruling Government

ust labib tolak pemimpin kafirThere are at least three ways to be done to prevent the election of non-muslim leaders. It was said by the Chairman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) Central Board Rokhmat S Labib in a talk show of Islamic Discussion (HIP) entitled: “Reject Ahok, Reject Kafir Leader?” on Wednesday (08/10/2016) in Gedung Juang, Jakarta.

First, the need to realize that Muslims must not choose a leader from among the kafir (non-muslim). “Though they are nominated, supported by the corporations, or the mafia, but if the Muslims are aware then they will not be fooled by their trickery,” he said in front of around 250 participants of the meeting.

Second, we should also raise the awareness of the parties with Muslim members not to help a non-muslim candidate to become a ruler.

“The chairmen of Golkar, Hanura, and Nasdem parties, since they are Muslim, must be reminded not to choose kafir leaders from ruling government, if they insist then the Muslims will learn a lesson because they have deceived and betrayed the voices of the Muslims, and instead they elect the kafir leaders, “said Rahmat.

Third, which is the main factor why a kafir leader can be elected to be a head of state or a governor. They can be rulers since the current system allows them to become rulers.

“Therefore, Muslims should strive to change the democratic system which allows kafir leaders, not just struggle to seize power,” he concluded.

The event organized by HTI was also attended by other speakers, namely Bachtiar Nasir (the Secretary of MIUMI- the Council of Young Indonesian Intellectuals and Ulema) and the vice governor of Jakarta during the Period 2007-2012.
